Helena Rebelo Pinto holds a PhD in Psychology and she is a Full Professor at Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP) in Lisbon. At the Faculty of Human Sciences, she is the Head of the Department of Psychology. She is also the Director of Instituto de Ciências da Família (at UCP) where she coordinates an interdisciplinary Master’s program in Family Sciences. Professor Rebelo Pinto is also a founding Member of the Catolica Research Centre for Psychological, Family and Social Wellbeing.
In recent years, her research interests have been particularly focused in sleep psychology and sleep education. Within these areas she has produced innovative models, methodologies and instruments for research and intervention in schools and communities. For the last five years she has been actively engaged in The National Project Sono Escolas in Portugal, working with teachers, families and public authorities, in order to improve sleep habits and sleep quality in children and adolescents.
