Marlene Matos is Assistant Professor, Department of Applied Psychology School of Psychology, University of Minho (UM), where is the Director of the Master in Applied Psychology. She has a Master and a PhD in Psychology, specialization in Psychology of Justice, in the same university
As researcher she has been working in the field of Victimology, Community Psychology and Forensic Psychology. Within the Psychology Research Centre (CIPsi), she has been responsible researcher of several projects financed by FCT in the area of "Victimology".
She was also the researcher in charge of projects financed by the Portuguese government, as the GAM project - Mutual helping groups to women victims of domestic violence, the study about the Criminal Procedures regarding Traffic in Persons and the II Evaluation of the National Plan Against Trafficking People (2011-2013). It is also the scientific consultant of CarryOn Project (financed by EEA Grants), directed to victims of domestic violence.
In the university community center, she is, since 1998, the scientific supervisor of forensic psychologists in criminal matters (with crime victims, such as domestic violence and rape) and civil (in the context of divorce and custody).
She is the author or co-author of many publications, national and international level in the field of Victimology and Forensic Psychology.
